Skyro — an AI-focused school
Skyro is the first private secondary school focused on artificial intelligence. It offers innovative approaches to education, including work on real projects and activities that foster creativity and critical thinking.
For a long time, the Skyro team struggled to find a law firm that would:
- design the complex architecture and legal project for opening a new school
- guide them practically through the maze of bureaucracy involved in opening a school
- set up and secure the school's complete legal operation
- enable tuition financing by adapting the international ISA model
- deliver the entire project within 9 months
Architecture and prioritisation of tasks
The client had one deadline: opening the school in September. This deadline became our driving force in organising the work. At the outset, we mapped out the project architecture, divided the project into categories and assigned them priorities and a timeline.
Securing the school's legal operation
As part of the project, we:
- drafted contracts with employees, parents and students
- handled formal communication with state institutions
- created template and internal documents for running the school
- minimised the risk of sanctions from state authorities.
This helped the client successfully minimise the risk of sanctions and prevent potential legal problems. At the same time, it helped organise administrative matters.
Innovation in financing school fees
We made it possible to innovate tuition financing by adapting the internationally used ISA model. Thanks to this solution, students from financially disadvantaged families can also afford an education at a private school. We also helped embed Skyro's progressive ideas into the day-to-day running of the school, for example by addressing the legal risks of students attending classes remotely.
Regular communication
We provided the client with comprehensive legal support through regular status calls and prepared the school for a legally sound start to its first school year. At the same time, we gave the client continuous access to our legal team through our “lawyer on the phone” service and Slack. A dedicated customer success manager makes sure the project stays on the right track.
